Turbo Notify in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, Turbo Notify comes in as a custom MCP server, added under Plugins. ChatGPT gets the tools only: there is no skill and no runner here, so every action happens in a chat you are present in.

  • A Turbo Notify account with a connected number (quickstart).
  • A ChatGPT account where Plugins offers Add custom MCP server. Which plans have it is ChatGPT’s decision, not ours.
  • For the icon: the file https://mcp.turbonotify.com/connector-icon.png (256 x 256 pixels, under 10 KB, the limit of ChatGPT’s form).
  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, click Add and choose Add custom MCP server.
  2. Click the icon box and choose the file you downloaded from https://mcp.turbonotify.com/connector-icon.png.
  3. In Name, write Turbo Notify. In Description, for example: Send and receive WhatsApp messages.
  4. In Server URL, write https://mcp.turbonotify.com.
  5. In Authentication, choose OAuth.
  6. Tick I understand and want to continue and click Create as plugin.

ChatGPT does not fill the name or the icon from the server: it shows what you put in this form. Without the icon, the connector appears with a generic symbol.

After creating the plugin, click Connect. ChatGPT opens the Turbo Notify page that names ChatGPT and says you return to chatgpt.com. Choose the organization, untick what you do not want to allow (sending, for example) and approve. You can disconnect it at any time in Connected apps in the dashboard.

Scopes and keys are in MCP server.

Open the plugin and click Test in chat, or start a chat with Turbo Notify selected, and ask: “List my WhatsApp numbers on Turbo Notify.” ChatGPT calls list_numbers, which only reads, and answers with your main number and its state. Nothing is sent.

The address never changes, so there is nothing to update. If the tool list looks out of date, delete the plugin and add it again.

  • Tools only, with you in the chat. ChatGPT does not run the virtual attendant.
  • The tools follow the API limits: 600 requests per minute per key or sign-in, plus the plan’s quota and sending pace. See MCP server limits.
  • ChatGPT asks to confirm tools that change something. The ones that read, such as list_numbers, run without it.
  • Business and Enterprise workspaces, where an administrator manages the plugins.
  • The authentication options other than OAuth (including the mixed one that allows no sign-in), and signing in with an API key.
  • How ChatGPT refreshes the tool list after Turbo Notify adds or changes a tool. The connector was created, connected and used on 3 November 2026 in a free account.
