Turbo Notify in Claude Desktop and Cowork
In Claude Desktop and Cowork the agent uses Turbo Notify through a connector (the tools only) or a plugin (the tools and the virtual attendant skill). Here the attendant works in assisted mode: a person approves every answer, and nothing is answered while the app is closed. To serve customers at any hour, use Claude Code or Codex.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Turbo Notify account with a connected number (quickstart).
- Claude Desktop or Cowork installed and signed in.
- For the plugin: a folder on the computer, where the attendant keeps conversations and customer records.
Connect
Section titled “Connect”Connector, tools only. Open Customize > Connectors, click + and Add custom connector. Give it a name (for example, Turbo Notify) and enter https://mcp.turbonotify.com. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector in Organization settings > Connectors, and each member then connects from Customize > Connectors.
Plugin, tools and skill. Under Customize, Plugins tab, click Add, Add marketplace, Add from a repository and enter turbo-notify/agent-skills. Then, under Discover, pick turbo-notify and click Add. The plugin already declares the MCP server.
Section titled “Sign in”- With your account (recommended): keep the Authentication setting Claude detected (or choose Sign in when needed), add the connector and use a Turbo Notify tool. If the connector page says you are not connected yet, click Connect once (that only turns the connector on, with no sign-in). The first time a tool needs your account, a Connect button appears in the chat, or Reconnect in Cowork: sign in to Turbo Notify and approve access. The browser that opens must be signed in to the same Claude account as the app. With the plugin, sign in the first time the agent uses the server.
- With an API key: on the connector, set Authentication to No sign in and, under Request headers, add
Authorizationwith the valueBearer YOUR_KEY. Without that change, Claude starts the Turbo Notify sign-in instead of using the key. Create the key in API Keys (opens in a new tab).
Claude connects from Anthropic’s servers, so the address must be reachable over the internet. Turbo Notify’s is.
In a new conversation, ask: “List my WhatsApp numbers on Turbo Notify.” The agent calls list_numbers, which only reads. If it asks permission to use the tool, approve.
For the skill, ask: “Set up the Turbo Notify virtual attendant.”
Update
Section titled “Update”The marketplace syncs from the repository. Claude’s documentation describes no manual update button: if the new version does not show up, remove the marketplace on the Plugins page and add it again. A plugin uploaded as a file does not update. Install from the marketplace.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Assisted mode only, with you present. Every answer needs approval, and nothing is answered with the app closed.
- The tools follow the API limits: 600 requests per minute per key or sign-in, plus the plan’s quota and sending pace. See MCP server limits.
What is not verified
Section titled “What is not verified”- The plugin and the skill in Claude Desktop and Cowork: install the plugin, open a session and serve a customer. We walked the connector in both (add it, sign in and list the numbers) on 2 November 2026; the plugin we did not, and its steps follow Claude’s documentation.
- In a plain Claude Desktop chat the attendant may not have a folder of its own to keep its data. The intended path is Cowork with a chosen folder; the folder worked in Cowork, but the attendant was not run there.
