Turbo Notify in Claude Code

Claude Code uses Turbo Notify in two ways: the MCP server gives the agent its tools, and the plugin adds the virtual attendant skill. Claude Code is one of the two agents where the attendant answers on its own.

  • A Turbo Notify account with a connected number (quickstart).
  • Claude Code installed and signed in.
  • For the skill: Python 3.9 or newer.

The MCP server only:

Janela do terminal
claude mcp add --transport http turbo-notify https://mcp.turbonotify.com

Server and skill, through the plugin:

claude plugin marketplace add turbo-notify/agent-skills#v1
claude plugin install turbo-notify@turbo-notify

The plugin already declares the MCP server. A server you added by hand with the same name takes priority over the plugin’s. #v1 keeps you on 1.x: a change that breaks compatibility never arrives by itself.

  • With your account (recommended): type /mcp in Claude Code, choose turbo-notify and follow the steps in your browser. You sign in to Turbo Notify and approve access. In a terminal you can also run claude mcp login turbo-notify, which needs an interactive terminal (it refuses to run from a script).
  • With an API key: use the AI agent (MCP) template in API Keys (opens in a new tab) and add --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" to the claude mcp add command. This is the route for an attendant that runs on its own. Treat the key like a password.

Scopes, keys and approved access are in MCP server.

Ask Claude Code: “List my WhatsApp numbers on Turbo Notify.” It calls list_numbers, which only reads, and answers with your main number and its state. Nothing is sent.

For the skill, ask: “Set up the Turbo Notify virtual attendant.”

claude plugin marketplace update turbo-notify
claude plugin update turbo-notify@turbo-notify

Restart Claude Code afterwards. To update by itself, turn on auto-update in /plugin, under the Marketplaces tab. The skill checks its own version and messages the administrators when a newer one exists.

  • The attendant’s runner runs in a terminal and needs the computer on and online, with Claude Code signed in on it.
  • The tools follow the API limits: 600 requests per minute per key or sign-in, plus the plan’s quota and sending pace. See MCP server limits and Limits.
  • A message that arrives while the runner is stopped is read when it returns, if it is still within the plan’s retention.
  • Automatic update in /plugin. The two update commands above were tried on a clean profile; the automatic option was not.
  • The /mcp screen itself. Signing in and a list_numbers call were run with claude mcp login on 3 November 2026 (Claude Code 2.1.317).
