Agent skills
A skill is a package of instructions and small programs that your AI agent loads to do a job well. The MCP server gives the agent the Turbo Notify tools. The skill teaches the agent to use them for one specific purpose, with the safety rules already in place.
The Turbo Notify skills ship in a single plugin, turbo-notify, in the public repository turbo-notify/agent-skills (opens in a new tab) . You can read everything they do before you install.

Claude Code
claude plugin marketplace add turbo-notify/agent-skills#v1claude plugin install turbo-notify@turbo-notifyClaude Desktop and Cowork: under Customize, Plugins tab, click Add, Add marketplace, Add from a repository and enter turbo-notify/agent-skills. Then, under Discover, pick turbo-notify and click Add.
Codex
codex plugin marketplace add turbo-notify/agent-skills --ref v1codex plugin add turbo-notify@turbo-notifyAntigravity
agy plugin install https://github.com/turbo-notify/agent-skillsThe plugin already declares the MCP server, so there is nothing to add: sign in with your Turbo Notify account the first time the agent uses it. For an attendant that runs on its own, connect the server with an API key instead, as the virtual attendant guide explains.
#v1 and --ref v1 keep you on version 1.x: a change that breaks compatibility (version 2) never arrives by itself.
Other agents and other ways to use Turbo Notify
Agents that read the Agent Skills format (OpenCode, Cursor, Copilot, Hermes and more) install the skill with:
npx skills add turbo-notify/agent-skillsHermes Agent also installs it by name: hermes skills install turbo-notify/agent-skills/skills/virtual-attendant. These agents do not read the plugin, so add the MCP server https://mcp.turbonotify.com in their own settings.
- MCP server only. The server is listed in the official MCP Registry as
com.turbonotify/whatsapp, for agents that find servers there. See MCP server. - n8n. The community node
n8n-nodes-turbo-notifysends and receives WhatsApp messages from n8n workflows. In n8n, open Settings, Community nodes and install it by that name. The source is turbo-notify/n8n-nodes-turbo-notify (opens in a new tab) .
Updates
Third-party marketplaces do not update by themselves in every agent. So the skill checks its own version about once an hour and, when a newer one exists, messages the administrators with the right command for the agent in use.
Claude Code
claude plugin marketplace update turbo-notifyclaude plugin update turbo-notify@turbo-notifyRestart afterwards. To update by itself, turn on auto-update in /plugin, under the Marketplaces tab.
Claude Desktop and Cowork: the marketplace syncs from the repository. Claude’s documentation describes no manual update button: if the new version does not show up, remove the marketplace on the Plugins page and add it again. A plugin uploaded as a file does not update: install from the marketplace.
Codex
codex plugin marketplace upgradecodex plugin add turbo-notify@turbo-notifyAntigravity: run the install command again. It replaces the installed copy.
After an update, the data folder is adjusted to the new version. If you use the runner, stop it (Ctrl+C) and start it again: that is when the adjustment happens. It makes a backup before any adjustment, and the folder stays as it was if something fails. Do not edit the files of the installed skill: changes are lost on update. What you taught the virtual attendant and your rules live in the data folder and are kept.
What a skill reaches
- Turbo Notify, through the MCP server (the one the plugin declares, or the one you connected with a key), with the permissions of your account or key.
- A folder on your computer, the one you choose during setup, where the conversations, the customer records and what you taught are kept. Turbo Notify gets no copy.
- One internet address besides Turbo Notify: the version check reads a single public version file in the skill’s repository, about once an hour, and tries again after 10 minutes if a check fails. If it keeps failing, nothing stops.
- Any other MCP servers you have, only if you allow them, one by one. See Connect your other MCP servers safely.
A skill that serves strangers receives text written by anyone. That is why the virtual attendant keeps what it reads apart from what it may do. With the runner (Claude Code and Codex), the conversation with the customer runs without tools and without access to your files, and a program sends the answer after checking the text. In Claude Desktop, Cowork and Antigravity, a person approving every answer is the safeguard. The details are in the virtual attendant guide and, for those building their own agent, in Protect the agent against prompt injection.
What each agent can do
How it runs depends on the agent. If you need service at any hour, use Claude Code or Codex, which have the runner: a short program that asks Turbo Notify and calls the AI model only when a message arrives. Claude Desktop, Cowork and Antigravity work while you are present, with a person approving every answer. The full table is in the virtual attendant guide.
